Water outage planned in Caldwell County today

A  portion of Caldwell County will experience a water outage today.

The Caldwell County Water District will shut down water service to about 400 customers beginning at 8 a.m.  Another 400 to 500 customers are also expected to see lower water pressure during the work.

The outage will affect customers on Highway 293 North and nearby side roads. Crews will be installing new valves on the water mains in that area.

Recent main breaks caused by failing infrastructure, have made it difficult to isolate problem areas without disrupting service to hundreds of customers.

A boil water advisory is also in effect until further notice.
