An Eddyville man was charged after allegedly taking a bag from a boat ramp on Saturday.

The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office said that they were called after 8 p.m. to the Coleman Bridge boat ramp off KY 730. An individual from Princeton reported that they were filming a video and set a backpack they had been carrying on the ground. A man in a dark-colored Chevrolet Suburban drove into the parking lot at the ramp, exited the vehicle, reportedly grabbed the backpack, and drove off.

The person who had been filming managed to get photos of the suspect vehicle and gave them to deputies.

The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office identified the individual in the SUV as 57-year-old George W. Grove of Eddyville.

Grove was located on Sunday and charged with theft. The items taken were recovered.
