Livingston County Schools have been forced to cancel classes on Monday due to a water main break.

The school system posted the closure notice at about 9 p.m. Sunday. In a release, Livingston County Schools cited a break in a main water line in the south end of Livingston County. They said the break not only affected the fire suppression systems but also the overall water supply for two schools, necessitating the cancelation of classes.

Officials said the missed day would be made up, and said information on when would be released at a later date.

Livingston County Judge-Executive Michael Williams posted a video Sunday evening saying a ruptured 12-inch water line in the Crittenden-Livingston Water District system that feeds all of Livingston County between the Cumberland and the Tennessee Rivers. He said because of the location and the depth of the line, they believe repairs will be completed by early afternoon Monday.
