Vehicle pursuit leads to arrest of Mayfield man

A Mayfield man is jailed on a variety of charges following a pursuit Friday night.

The Graves County Sheriff's Office said just before midnight they attempted to stop a truck that had committed a traffic stop on KY 80 driven by 19-year-old Nathan Hungerford of Mayfield. 

Investigators said they attempted to catch up to the vehicle as it turned onto Central Road.

The vehicle turned all of its lights off and a short vehicle pursuit ensued. The pursuit eventually continued onto KY-303 and ended in the 1900 block of KY 303 when deputies were able to successfully deploy stop sticks and a tire deflation device.

Hungerford was taken into custody without incident and  was found to be under the influence.  Located inside of the vehicle was marijuana, paraphernalia and a loaded firearm.

Hungerford was charged with fleeing or evading police, DUI, possession of marijuana, and other traffic offenses.

He was transported to an out of county detention center.
