US 60 back open in Ballard County after overturned semi and spilled cargo

UPDATE:
The semi has been cleared. Both lanes of US 60 are back open

ORIGINAL STORY:
Ballard County 911 Dispatch reports that US 60 is restricted to one lane by an overturned semi between Barlow and LaCenter in Ballard County.

The truck spilled its cargo of rice hulls in the ditch along the shoulder of the highway about a mile east of Barlow.

The truck will have to be off-loaded before it can be removed.  One-lane traffic is being maintained at this time. However, the roadway will likely have to be blocked for about an hour or more to allow recovery of the truck at some point during the day.

Motorists are asked to seek an alternate route to reduce traffic congestion at the crash site.

Passenger vehicles may detour around the crash via KY 1368 and KY 802, but there is no detour at this time for commercial trucks.
