A two vehicle accident in Paducah sent one person to the hospital Monday morning.

The McCracken County Sheriff's Office said deputies responded to a two-vehicle collision on North Friendship Road near Buckner Lane.

Deputies said 21-year-old Ethan Rix of Paducah was driving northbound on North Friendship near Buckner Lane. Witnesses reported that Rix had passed vehicles on a double yellow line that indicated a no-passing zone.

Rix reportedly attempted to get back into the proper lane and struck a vehicle driven by 74-year-old Nora Jean Robinson of Paducah. Both vehicles went off the roadway and into a wood line. Two road signs indicating the curve and the speed limit were damaged in the collision.

Robinson was taken to a local hospital for treatment. Rix received a citation for improper passing.
