Two men jailed on drug charges following traffic stop

Two men were arrested Wednesday following a traffic stop in Graves County.

The Graves County Sheriff's Office said they conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle travelling south on Paris Road near Barton Drive.  Investigators observed vehicle equipment violations. The driver of the vehicle was identified as 59-year-old Edward L. Langston,of Benton with the passenger was identified as 47-yer-old Matthew D. Heath of Hardin.

A search of the vehicle resulted in the discovery of approximately three grams of suspected crystal methamphetamine and $468.19 in U.S. currency.

During the investigation, Langston and Heath were both suspected of tampering with physical evidence by attempting to hide the methamphetamine.  Both men were charged with several offenses and were first taken to the Graves County .Restricted Custody Center and later lodged at the McCracken County Regional Jail.
