Crash involving crane and passenger vehicle blocked KY 121 in Calloway on Tuesday

A crash involving a crane and passenger vehicle blocked traffic for about 3 hours along KY 121 in Calloway County.

Calloway County Fire Rescue and the Calloway County Sheriff’s Office were called to KY 121 and Cypress Trail at about 4 p.m. They found the crane rolled on its side, blocking the road, and a small SUV heavily damaged just off the road. Investigators believe the SUV was stopped on a side road waiting to turn southbound on KY 121 when it pulled into the path of the northbound crane.

The collision caused a lot of damage to the two vehicles, but fortunately, the injuries were minor. One person was taken to Murray–Calloway County Hospital to be checked out.

The road reopened about 7 p.m. Tuesday.
