Two men have died following a crash along Oaks Road Tuesday morning.

The crash happened just after 7:30 a.m. at the intersection of Oaks Road and Lydon Road. McCracken County Sheriff’s deputies were called to the scene for a three-vehicle crash.

Investigators determined that an SUV headed east on Lydon Road, driven by 37-year-old Jesse Speed of Benton, and a car traveling south on Oaks Road, driven by 27-year-old Ethan Townsend of Mayfield, crashed in the intersection, with one vehicle broadside into the other. At about the same time, a truck headed north on Oaks road, driven by 57-year-old Tod Dahlberg of Benton, collided with the other two vehicles already in the intersection.

McCracken County Coroner Amanda Melton pronounced Speed and Dahlberg dead at the scene.

Townsend was taken to the hospital for treatment of his injuries.

The road was closed for nearly four hours.
