The Graves County Sheriff's office posted Wednesday that they have received reports about two recent incidents of deer acting abnormally.

On the 29th of September, a deer was reported to be very close to a business and acting strangely on Ky 80 just east of Mayfield. The deer was taken by a biologist from the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife for testing.

On Wednesday around noon, a deer near Central Elementary School was reported as acting strange. Then deer eventually made its way into the school building. Fall break is underway so no students were present at the school.

Sheriff's deputies and a KSP Trooper herded the deer outside, then euthanized it and removed it from the property.

During both of these incidents, the deer were not acting aggressively, but were acting confused, suffering from what appeared to be poor eyesight or a vision issue.

This week's incident has also been reported to Kentucky Fish and Wildlife.
