The National Weather Service in Paducah says dry conditions are expected through the next seven days, with a brief cooler spell into this weekend.
Slightly gusty northeast winds near 20 miles per hour today will keep temperatures in the lower to mid 70s with clear skies. Winds will die down Thursday and Friday but still be cool.
Most of the region will see lows in the 40s for Thursday and lower 40s Friday morning. Temps could dip into the upper 30s Friday near Mt. Vernon, IL, which could bring a patchy first frost to that portion of the region.
Warmer temperatures return Monday with highs back in the 80s. Paducah's historical average high for this weekend in October is 75 degrees.
