A police K9 was called in and did an open-air sniff of the vehicle, which was driven by 48-year-old Thomas Sawyers of Hardin. The dog triggered to the possibility of drugs in the vehicle, and a further search is said to have turned up about 86 grams of methamphetamine, plus marijuana and digital scales. Sawyers was arrested and charged with trafficking in meth, possession of marijuana, and a host of traffic violations. A computer search also revealed warrants for Sawyers from Gallatin County. He was served with those, charging him with trafficking in fentanyl and meth.
