Two arrested on DUI charges in McCracken rollover accident

A single-vehicle accident Saturday night in McCracken County led to the arrest of two people on DUI charges.

McCracken County Sheriff's deputies were dispatched to the 1300 block of Krebs Station Road for a rollover collision. 

The vehicle was found on its roof off the roadway. Deputies said multiple beer bottles and cans were scattered around the vehicle.The operator and passenger were found outside the vehicle. Deputies determined they were under the influence of alcohol.

Video footage showed the vehicle lost control on a hill before leaving the roadway and overturning.

Witnesses told deputies they observed the two occupants exit the vehicle and begin hiding alcohol behind the bushes on the property. The alcoholic beverages recovered by deputies matched the brand of empty containers found inside the vehicle.

The operator and passenger were medically cleared, placed under arrest, and lodged in the McCracken County Regional Jail.

The roadway was shut down for approximately 1.5 hours.
