Two Murray residents jailed on drug and other charges

Two Murray residents were arrested at an Off Shore Drive residence Monday night.

The Calloway County Sheriff's Office said around 10:30 pm, they went to the residence to serve an arrest warrant on 58-year-old Jeff S. Richardson.

At first, no one answered the door but movement was observed inside.  When they did go in, they found Richardson and 56-year-old Rhonda L. Caffey.

After a brief struggle, both individuals were taken into custody. Upon their arrival at the detention center, Cathey was found to be in possession of illicit drugs.

Richardson's arrest warrant was the result of a February investigation into narcotics trafficking in Calloway County.

Richardson was charged with resisting arrest, trafficking in a controlled susbstance, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and resisting arrest from the arrest warrant.

Cathey was charged with hindering prosecution, possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and promoting contraband.

Both were lodged in the Calloway County Detention Center.
