Two Illinois men were arrested after allegedly breaking into vehicles at an apartment complex off New Holt Road.
A neighbor tipped off the owners of the vehicles who called the McCracken County Sheriff's Office about the thefts at the Timber Village Apartments.
One of the suspects fled after being confronted by one of the owners, and a deputy detained the other in the complex parking lot. The second suspect was located and arrested walking along New Holt Road.
The suspects, 18-year-old Randy Powell of Golconda and 19-year-old Chanton Lee of Elizabethtown, reportedly admitted to investigators that they were driven to the area in an organized effort to find unlocked vehicles with cash.
Powell and Lee were both taken to the McCracken County Regional Jail.
