A Cadiz man was arrested Monday morning after a pursuit through Marshall and Calloway counties.

A Calloway County Sheriff's deputy tried to stop a pickup believed to be driven by a man wanted for questioning out of Trigg County. The driver, 61-year-old Charles Sikes, allegedly refused to stop and fled.

The pursuit continued on US 641 into Marshall County before heading back into Calloway County. Calloway deputies deployed spike strips near Flint Road, but Sikes reportedly swerved to miss them and crashed. A deputy's cruiser sustained damage in the crash.

Sikes was taken to Calloway County Hospital for treatment, then to the Calloway County Jail.

He was charged with wanton endangerment, fleeing or evading police, assault of a police officer, resisting arrest, and criminal mischief.
