A traffic stop in McCracken County on Saturday landed a wanted Illinois man in jail after a pursuit.
Deputies stopped the vehicle for alleged traffic violations on Fisher Road near Barkley Airport.
The passenger, 36-year-old Marshall Cook of Cairo, reportedly gave a false name. When confronted, deputies said he fled on foot.
Cook was caught and a struggle ensued. Authorities said Cook attempted to disarm the deputy, who suffered a broken finger.
Cook was reportedly in possession of methamphetamine and marijuana, and also had an outstanding warrant for a parole violation.
Cook was charged with assault of a police officer, resisting arrest, fleeing or evading, providing false information, trafficking in meth, possession of marijuana, public intoxication and more.
The driver, 27-year-old Annamarie Adams of Paducah, was also arrested on numerous charges.
