The National Weather Service office in Paducah notes that tonight will be the first night of freezing weather recorded this fall in Paducah, more than a month later than usual.

Temperatures are finally forecast to fall below freezing for the first time this season in Paducah tonight. This is the latest in the Fall season we have ever gone without a sub-freezing temperature, including records dating back to 1938.

The previous latest date was November 25, 2004 and 2nd latest was November 14, 1975.

Our average date for temperatures to drop below freezing for the first time is usually around October 27.

Now that it has arrived, the freezing nights will continue for a while. Saturday morning is forecast to be 27 degrees; Sunday morning 26; Monday morning 19; Tuesday morning 22; and Wednesday morning 27.

Afternoon highs will barely reach the 40s all weekend, and won't recover to the 50s until Wednesday.
