Because of the heavy rains expected for the rest of this week, the closure of Friedman Lane in Paducah scheduled for Wednesday has been postponed to Monday, April 7.
At that time, the road will be closed to traffic for the replacement of a deteriorated storm pipe that runs parallel to the roadway. Contractors will replace 256 linear feet of pipe with a 48-inch diameter concrete pipe, and reconstruct three concrete structures.
The work is expected to take approximately ten days to complete.
The closure of Friedman Lane begins at the intersection with US 60/Park Avenue and ends at Paducah Fire Station #3. The closure will not affect access to businesses along US 60. All businesses have alternate driveways for access.
During the closure, crews from Fire Station #3 will respond to calls by taking alternate routes.
