Teen airlifted after fall at Garden of the Gods

A teenager was airlifted to a hospital after an accidental fall in the Shawnee National Forest of southern Illinois on Monday afternoon.

According to the Equality Fire Department, a 14-year-old boy fell off of Camel Rock along the observation trail at Garden of the Gods. 

EMTs said the child fell about 20 feet. He was flown to a Kentucky hospital by Air Evac.

The boy's condition was described at the scene as stable.
