The Tennessee Valley Authority has announced a $50 rebate for homeowners, per heat pump or central air conditioning unit, to get their HVAC systems inspected in preparation for summer temperatures.
The annual tune ups and inspections can cost between $50 and $150, but can prolong the life of a unit while decreasing monthly payments on energy bills due to increased efficiency.
For those seeking replacement of a unit, TVA also offers qualifying rebates up to $1,500.
Estimates show between rebates and energy upgrades, consumers can save up to 50% annually on energy costs.
Since October of last year, TVA has promised a $1.5 billion investment through 2028 to assist both homeowners and businesses in saving energy costs — particularly with the continued spike of sweltering summers and white winters.
In order to qualify for rebates, customers must use a member from TVA’s “Quality Contractor Network,” and have eligible upgrades installed.
