Suspect nabbed in July 4th shooting in Murray

A suspect is in jail following a shooting on July 4th in Murray.

Murray Police were notified just before 9 p.m. Friday of a gunshot victim who came into Murray Calloway County Hospital. Officers met with the victim at the hospital and went to the address where the shooting had reportedly happened to secure that scene. Investigators at the shooting scene were able to get a description of the vehicle the suspect was driving, and they spotted it trying to leave the area. 

Officers got the vehicle to stop and ultimately charged the driver, 61-year-old Earl Birdsong of Murray, with 1st-degree assault and tampering with physical evidence.
