A storm survey team from the National Weather Service confirmed on Thursday what they had already surmised from radar returns during severe storms on Wednesday night.

Their survey of storm damage determined that an EF-1 tornado touched down 3 miles east-southeast of Cunningham near the intersection of County Roads 1011 and 1012. The tornado was on the ground for 1.5 miles, with peak winds of 100 miles per hour.

The tornado moved southeast across KY 849 near the Graves-Carlisle County line. Numerous trees were snapped or uprooted before the tornado lifted.

Right on the heels of the tornado, a large swath of 80 to 105 mph winds occurred across a large area of northeastern Carlisle and northern Graves counties producing its own significant damage.

There were no fatalities or injuries from the storm.
