Construction equipment reported stolen from the Indianapolis area recently has been found in Graves County and a suspect arrested.
The Graves County Sheriff's Office said Thursday they recovered the equipment in Graves County April 6th.
The three pieces had been stolen from construction sites in the Indianapolis, Indiana area. The two dump trailers and excavator had a value of $50,000.
An investigation into the matter revealed that two victims in Graves County had responded to Facebook Marketplace ads, where the equipment was posted for sale.
In communications with the seller, arrangements were made for price as well as a delivery location for the Graves County purchasers to pick up the equipment.
On separate occasions in March and April, the seller delivered the stolen equipment to a truck stop in Shepherdsville, met with the Graves County victim(s) and sold the equipment.
An in-depth investigation into electronic records and other investigative efforts led to the positive identification of the suspect as 43 year old Delon L. Washington of Indianapolis, IN. Washington has previous felony convictions for theft in Indiana.
A Graves County arrest warrant was issued for Washington, charging him with three counts of felony theft by deception.
He was located Wednesday and arrested by the Marion County IN Sheriff's Office and faces extradition back to Graves County to face these charges.
