Stolen Humvee lands Metropolis man in jail

A Humvee reported stolen last week landed a Metropolis man in jail.

The vehicle was reported stolen to Metropolis Police on Tuesday after it was allegedly taken from the Acee’s Truck Stop. Police spoke with the victim and got information on the vehicle and the suspect. Later, the SUV was found along Catherine Street. The suspect, 32-year-old Brock E. Bailey of Metropolis, was also located along Catherine near 15th Street.

Bailey was arrested and charged with possession of a stolen vehicle, theft, and criminal damage to property. He was taken to the Massac County Detention Center.

Police said that Bailey was on a pre-trial release from a previous arrest.
