Kentucky State Police joined forces with Illinois State Police and the Missouri Highway Patrol in participation with Operation United Front for the first two weeks in May.
The safety campaign targeted commercial vehicles with enforcement of speeding, occupant protection, driving under the influence, and distracted driving along I-24 through Illinois and Kentucky, as well as I-57 in Illinois and Missouri.
KSP Enforcement along the I-24 corridor resulted in 83 speeding citations, 37 reckless driving citations, 22 occupant protection citations, and four DUI arrests.
A total of 272 commercial motor vehicles were inspected, resulting in 53 vehicles and 16 drivers being placed out of service.
Kentucky State Police Post 1, Post 2 and Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Region 1 were part of the Kentucky contingent.
