The National Weather Service says storms will increase in coverage tonight, mainly in southeast Missouri and southern Illinois.
There will be a break in the rain Easter Sunday mornng through midday.
Showers and thunderstorms will develop in southeast Missouri late Sunday afternoon, and move east across the rest of the region through Sunday night.
The storms could grow to become strong or even reach severe thresholds in southern Illinois and far western Kentucky. The best chances for severe weather will be in the Ozark foothills of Missouri.
Warmer and drier weather will follow next week.
