Light rain is possible across the southern half of the Quad State Friday afternoon through Friday night with about a 50 percent chance of rain, primarily near the Arkansas and Tennessee borders.
Near normal temperatures remain through the weekend before a warm up is expected next week. Temperatures warm back to above normal next week as highs warm into the mid 50s on Monday, and mid 60s by Tuesday. The above normal temperatures will continue through the rest the week.
Even the extended 6-10 day outlook is pointing toward a strong chance for above normal temperatures for the Ohio Valley, lower Mississippi and the entire Southeast.
Paducah's historical average high for almost all of January is 44 to 45 degrees, before a slow climb to an average of 50 by February 15.
