Smith named new principal at Southwest Calloway Elementary

Southwest Calloway Elementary will have a new principal beginning this fall.

Calloway County Schools said Thursday Lynsey Smith has been selected for the position.  

Smith currently serves the district as an assistant principal at Calloway County High School. She was previously the district’s director of special education for four years. 

Before becoming an administrator, Smith was an elementary teacher at North Calloway Elementary School. She has a total of 22 years of experience in education.

Smith replaces Melinda Hendley, who served as interim principal since January.
