Single-vehicle crash in western McCracken County landed two people in the hospital

A single-vehicle crash in western McCracken County on Tuesday landed two people in the hospital.

The crash happened near the intersection of Metropolis Lake Road and Woodville Road just before 9 p.m. Tuesday. McCracken County Sheriff’s deputies determined that a car driven by 16-year-old Chevy D. Hyde of Paducah went out of control after crossing railroad tracks. The vehicle left the road, ran through two yards, hit a tree, and rolled over onto its roof in the front yard of a home. First responders said that airbags deployed and both occupants, Hyde and his passenger, 16-year-old Simiya Cressler of Paducah, had to be helped from the vehicle.

EMS took Hyde and Cressler to a local hospital with serious injuries. Both were ultimately flown to an out-of-state hospital to be treated.
