Their early week forecast is starting to get focused on the likelihood of 1 to 2 inches and gusty thunderstorms possible for our area late Friday night and all day Saturday.
It's part of a major change in the weather for the entire eastern half of the country, with a potential for heavy snow in the Midwest and Great Lakes.
It'll be rain for us, but Accuweather says the further south you go the chances increase for severe thunderstorms and hail, beginning in the Bootheel and west Tennessee down the Mississippi River to Louisiana.
There is still uncertainty in computer models as to the timing and intensity of the large system that could enhance the chance here for locally heavy rainfall.
