I-69 near Mayfield clear after semi crash

I-69 is back open after a semi crash blocked the interstate on Wednesday afternoon near Mayfield.

The accident occurred at the Exit 21 Interchange where I-69 meets the Purchase Parkway, KY 80 and US 45 at the southwest edge of Mayfield.

When the southbound truck hit the barrier wall it knocked a large chunk of concrete into the northbound lanes and scattered debris into those lanes.

The roadway was reopened after about 3 hours.

Crews will have to return later to repair the barrier wall.
