Second stolen vehicle in 10 days ends in Lyon County crash; 3 teens to hospitals

A second vehicle allegedly stolen by the same pair of juveniles resulted in a crash with injuries to three people last week.

Last Monday in the wee hours of the morning an SUV was reportedly stolen from a home on Knob Street in Eddyville. The vehicle is said to have been driven all over the county including to three homes in the south end.

Those stops came before the teens reportedly crashed the vehicle along KY 903 near the Lyon/Caldwell line. The crash sent a male and female suspect and a third juvenile to Caldwell County Medical Center for treatment of their injuries. 

A 15-year-old male and a 16-year-old female were arrested once they were medically cleared and charged with theft by unlawful taking of a vehicle over $10,000. According to the report, the vehicle is most likely totaled. Investigators said that this was believed to be the second vehicle the pair had stolen over ten days. 

The male was taken to the McCracken Regional Juvenile Detention Center, while the female was transferred to the Boyd Regional Juvenile Detention Center in Ashland.

The third juvenile is currently not facing charges.
