A Benton man has been arrested and charged with trafficking in methamphetamine after a crash and a subsequent investigation.

Sheriff's deputies arrested 45-year-old Keith Knight of Benton on Friday at a home on Carr Road in McCracken County. A search of that home reportedly uncovered marijuana and items related to drug trafficking. The search and the arrest came following the investigation into a crash that happened back on January 31st.

McCracken County deputies were called that day to a single-vehicle crash on Lovelaceville Florence Station Road. Knight was the driver of that vehicle and was taken to a hospital due to injuries from the crash. Inside the vehicle, deputies allegedly found methamphetamine. At the hospital, they reportedly found more meth and a large amount of cash on Knight's person.

Deputies got warrants for Knight's arrest, but he was released before they could be served. He was finally located at the Carr Road address on Friday.

Knight is charged with trafficking in meth and marijuana along with felony probation violations.
