Sawdust fire reported in southern Trigg County Thursday

A sawdust fire occurred in southern Trigg County Thursday afternoon.

WKDZ reported the Roaring Springs Fire Department was called around 2:25 pm to a lumber mill near Corinth School Road and the Oak Ridge Country Store where a 80 foot sawdust pile ignited.

Two hours later, all Trigg County departments and water tankers were requested to come when the fire spread to an adjacent wooded area along Skinner Creek.  The US Forest Service was also called to the scene.

No injuries were reported but fire crews stayed on the scene several hours into the evening because of the size of the sawdust pile and its proximity to lumber piles and buildings.
