Red Cross MCOT available in Marshall County Jan. 5-7

The American Red Cross announced a Mobile Community Outreach team would be set up at Joe Creason Community Building.

They will be set up at 1600 Park Ave. Benton from 9:30 a.m.to 3:30 p.m. Wednesday - Friday and will have caseworkers on-site to assist residents in applying for Red Cross financial assistance.

Anyone in the affected area that needs a safe place to stay can find an open emergency shelter by contacting the Red Cross at 800-RED-Cross.

The Red Cross advises that many of their volunteers will be contacting those who have applied for assistance from cell phone numbers. These are not spam calls and should be answered.
