After nine years leading Mayfield Independent School District, Joe Henderson will retire at the end of June.
Reluctant to speak about a legacy, Henderson states that he would just like to be remembered as "someone that was devoted to helping our students and community whether it be in or out of the school setting."
"It has been an honor to lead the district as Superintendent over the last nine years and be a part of not just a school district but a family," Henderson said.
As he works with Billy Edwards to take the helm, Henderson offered a piece of advice, "Be committed and always do what is best for the students and the community. Continue the pride, tradition and excellence of the Mayfield Independent School District."
A reception has been planned for Henderson at Mayfield High School on Thursday, May 9th from 3:30 - 5:30 pm.
Current and former faculty and staff of Mayfield Schools, community members, family and friends of Henderson are invited.
