A Princeton man was indicted on federal child pornography charges for attempting to receive material containing child porn almost two years ago.
The indictment filed last week in U.S. District Court in Paducah, charged Jason Merrick with attempted receipt of child pornography and the transfer of obscene material to a minor.
The complaint alleges that Merrick attempted to receive material containing child pornography over a computer in October and November 2020. On October 29 of last year, the indictment said Merrick transferred the obscene matter to someone under 16.
If convicted, Merrick could face no less than five years and no more than 20 years in prison and a fine of $250,000.
