Many of Kentucky's current elected officials and hopeful challengers are making plans for the 142nd Annual St. Jerome Fancy Farm Picnic.
The annual gathering, touted as the world's largest one-day barbecue, is held on the grounds of, and is a fundraiser for St. Jerome Catholic Church in Fancy Farm.
This year, the picnic will take place on August 6th, and the political speaking will be emceed by Kentucky's Speaker of the House David Osborne.
Those already accepting invitations include:
Congressman James Comer
Secretary of State Michael Adams
State Auditor and Gubernatorial candidate Mike Harmon
Agriculture Commissioner and Gubernatorial candidate Ryan Quarles
State Treasurer Allison Ball
State Senator Jason Howell
State Representative Richard Heath
U.S. Senate candidate Charles Booker
The sitting U.S. Senators, Minority Leader Mitch McConnell and Dr. Rand Paul have also accepted invitations pending their summer recess schedule.
Organizers said this list is subject to change. Several office holders have not yet responded to invitations.
