On Friday, Mayor George Bray cut the ribbon for the new pickleball facility at Noble Park.
The mayor and city commissioners also provided the first serve on the new courts.
The ceremony included remarks from Parks & Recreation Director Amie Clark, Bray, Mayor Pro Tem Sandra Wilson, City Manager Daron Jordan and representatives from PCC Sports and Bacon Farmer Workman Engineering & Testing, Inc./Marcum Engineering, LLC..
Contractor PCC Sports said it was the largest such ribbon-cutting they had attended. They also said Paducah has the first post-tension concrete courts in Kentucky.
The courts are now open to the public. However, the contractor will close the courts tentatively on Wednesday and Thursday to install the poles and canopies for the shade structures.
