Sprocket and Codefi have recruited two new tech startups to Paducah with help from the City of Paducah and McCracken County.
The two new companies are expected to relocate to Paducah, this fall. Ewagers and Feed Coyote were recruited during the second annual 1ST50K Pitch Day event in July.
The event saw a local panel of entrepreneurs, tech specialists, and executives hear pitches from 7 groups to determine companies that would grow in western Kentucky. Applications came from 25 states and 17 countries.
Ewagers, a skill-based Esports betting platform, and Feed Coyote, a business networking platform for the gig economy, will each receive $50,000 to relocate and bring tech companies and their talent to Paducah.
Sprocket Executive Director, Monica Bilak said, “This is a major shift in economic development strategy transformed by the shift to a digital economy. We are attracting a highly-innovative set of startups and founders to grow the next generation of companies. They trend towards high growth and create high wage jobs.”
