A Paducah woman was sentenced this week in McCracken Circuit Court for her role in an armed robbery that took place in 2019.

C'Bonesha Merriweather was sentenced to twelve years in prison for the August 2019 robbery. According to the Commonwealth Attorney's office, Merriweather and Jeon Quarles met an individual in a parking lot under the guise of selling an iPhone. The meet was set up on Facebook Messenger.

When the individual arrived at the meet, Merriweather reportedly pulled a gun on him and threatened him. The victim was able to escape and called police.

First Assistant Commonwealth's Attorney James Mills said, "The jury returned a fair sentence in light of the severity of the crime. Illegal use of guns in furtherance of crime is something we should all take seriously."

Mills noted that Merriweather was sentenced in February to three years in prison after a burglary of a car dealer and then stealing a car.
