Paducah sets record high of 72 on Monday

On Monday, the region enjoyed the warmest day of the year so far, and Paducah rewrote its record for high temperature.

Paducah's high soared to 72 degrees on Monday afternoon at Barkley Field. That eclipsed the previous mark of 71, set in 2020.

Today will be about 20 degrees cooler as a front passes through and limits our high to a more seasonal 53, along with gusty north winds this morning that will taper off through the day.

But we could see 70 again on Thursday with rain and even a thunderstorm.
