The Paducah Police Department is hosting a drug take-back event on October 23 in partnership with Mercy Health - Lourdes Hospital and the Purchase District Health Department.

From 10 a.m. until 2 p.m., bring your expired, unused, and unwanted prescription drugs to the drive-through building in the front parking lot of the Mercy Health - Paducah Medical Pavilion at 225 Medical Center Drive.

Only pills and patches will be accepted. The service is free and anonymous, with no questions asked.

Since the national DEA drug-take-back program began, law enforcement agencies across the country have collected thousands of tons of unwanted prescription medications.

Medicines that remain in home cabinets are highly susceptible to misuse.
