A man and woman face animal torture charges after they allegedly left a dog in a hot car in Paducah.

McCracken County deputies were dispatched in July to a home on Washington Street when someone saw the dog in distress.

Deputies said 84-year-old Jimmy Reynolds and 51-year-old Tammy Richmond left the home on July 4 and took the dog with them. Allegedly, the dog was left in the car until they arrived at home on July 5.

Investigators said Reynolds and Richmond then left the dog on hot concrete until the dog started seizing.

The animal was rushed to a veterinarian but did not survive the incident.

Reynolds and Richmond were arrested on Thursday and Friday, respectively.
