World Atlas.com has named Paducah as one of seven "serene towns" in Kentucky for a weekend retreat.

The website says if you're looking for a place to chill for a weekend while enjoying cultural festivals and supporting locally made produce, Paducah is a good choice.

Their description of the city's features include Whitehaven Welcome Center, The National Quilt Museum, and the Inland Waterways Museum. May's Lower Town Arts And Music Festival is coming up soon, and Civil War tales waiting to be told at Lloyd Tilghman House & Civil War Museum.

Wine tasting and the city's park system is also mentioned, as well as the trivia answer that more then 20 local buildings are on the National Historic Register.

The other six serene cities for weekend getaways are Paris, Bardstown, Berea, Danville, Horse Cave and La Grange.
