A Paducah man was arrested Thursday following an ongoing investigation into his whereabouts related to two previous serious assault cases.
Paducah Police said their Drug Unit arrested 32-year-old Coryaunta Rhodes who was wanted on active warrants in which he allegedly slapped and strangled a family member, rendering the victim unconscious.
Rhodes was also a suspect in a separate assault at a local nightclub, where he reportedly punched a female victim, resulting in injuries severe enough to require her transfer to an out-of-state hospital.
In both cases, Rhodes fled before police arrived.
On Thursday, detectives saw Rhodes standing outside a home. Upon making contact with him, detectives said he was in possession of approximately 2.5 ounces of marijuana and numerous items of drug paraphernalia.
Rhodes was taken into custody without incident. His charges included trafficking in marijuana, along with arrest warrants charging him with assault and strangulation
