A Paducah man has been charged with a Saturday morning burglary of the Dollar General on Irvin Cobb Drive.
Paducah Police were alerted to a break-in at the Dollar General store and said when they got to the scene, they found the front glass door had been broken out.
Officers viewed the store surveillance video that reportedly showed a white male, wearing all black clothing, using an old oil filter to break the glass and enter the store. Police said the man could allegedly be seen taking beer, cigarettes, clothing, and a flashlight.
While still at the scene, other officers saw 31-year-old Justin W. Edwards walking along Wayne Sullivan Drive. Edwards matched the description of the man in the video, and allegedly was in possession of items taken from Dollar General.
Edwards was charged with burglary and criminal mischief. It is also alleged that Edwards used an old oil filter to do damage the window at the Kroger gas station, across from the Dollar General, resulting in approximately $1, 000 in damage.
Edwards was taken to the McCracken County Regional Jail.
