A Paducah man accused of voyeurism and other crimes potentially involving McCracken County students was arrested on Saturday in California.
The McCracken County Sheriff’s Office said that 41-year-old Ryan Conn of Paducah was picked up on an arrest warrant by Border Patrol and Port Authority police in San Diego. Detectives were tipped off to an alleged inappropriate sexual relationship between Conn and a McCracken County student during Conn’s time as a volunteer wrestling coach. The tip said it happened about a year ago while the reported victim was still a student.
Interviews with potential victims and the recovery of some digital evidence led detectives to seek an arrest warrant as well as a search warrant for Conn’s home. They searched Conn’s home in Paducah on Friday, before his arrest in California on Saturday. He is currently awaiting extradition back to Kentucky.
Conn is charged with possession of matter portraying a sexual act by a minor over 12, Voyeurism, and official misconduct.
