A Paducah man is facing several charges after he allegedly stabbed his mother.
A McCracken County Sheriff’s deputy was called to the 300 block of Oaks Road in Paducah for a physical disturbance on Monday afternoon. When the deputy arrived, he reportedly saw a man threatening a woman with a large knife.
The deputy said when he got out of his vehicle, the man, later identified as 21-year-old John Taber, began moving toward the deputy with the knife.
A short time later, multiple law enforcement officers took Taber into custody.
Deputies learned that Taber had stabbed his mother on the surface of the skin with the knife. She was treated and released by paramedics.
Taber was taken to the McCracken County Jail and charged with assault - domestic violence, menacing, wanton endangerment involving a police officer, resisting arrest and disorderly conduct. More criminal charges are possible.
